First up, is Upwaltham Barns. A truly unique countryside wedding venue, run by a dedicated family. This barn is nestled amongst the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. The atmosphere is wonderfully welcoming and relaxed, providing a secluded country idyll that is, exclusively yours on your day, allowing you to celebrate and enjoy with your family and friends. The venue boasts a barn for the ceremony, as well as a separate barn for your reception. Our favourite feature is the ‘plank’ above the top table which we can adorn with beautiful fresh flowers. They also have hanging chandeliers if you want to make your big day stand out from the rest.

Next, we have the breathtaking Two Woods Estate, which you can only truly understand by visiting Rob & Woody at this stunning venue. We were genuinely lost for words the first time we visited. If you’re looking for an outdoor ceremony in Sussex, this is it. There is no other option. The outrageously tall collection of red wood trees gives off the feeling of being in a cathedral, and the aisle walk is akin to being on a cat walk. The venue is not only run by the nicest human beings, but they really have thought of everything..it is majestic.
Farbridge was a venue we first visited this year, and I cannot believe we haven’t been to it before! It has quickly moved into our Top 2 barn wedding venues in the whole of Sussex. The main barn itself is huge and stunning, with high ceilings and plenty of room for dancing! Off the main barn, you have the ceremony barn, which is beautiful in it’s own right and perfectly sized. Not only this, but they have an entire courtyard for alfreso drinks and tonnes of accommodation on site, which is rare for a barn wedding. We truly believe this venue has the whole package.

South Stoke Barn is set in the heart of Arundel, and is a total DIY wedding venue. Their aim is to allow you the freedom to create your own special day while being on hand to help you achieve this. They have just one wedding a week, with access to the barn from Thursday, giving you plenty of time to decorate and style the barn to your choice. This is ideal if you’re looking for somewhere you can truly make your own. A lot of venues churn out couples to make the most out of the wedding season, but not South Stoke Barn.
If you’re looking for a church wedding in Sussex, you can get married at St Leonard’s, which is a stones throw from this beautiful venue. You can begin with a drinks reception on the lower floor of the barn, before going upstairs to the rustic reception room where we will set up your wedding cake and table flowers. Here, you can also choose your own caterer, Ren’s Kitchen is a favourite of ours.

Next up is Arundel Town Hall, which we love. It is the perfect venue for your ceremony, before going on to celebrate somewhere like The Pig, The Brewhouse Project or The Norfolk Arms. It boasts a huge and palatial ceremony room, with plenty of seating for your guests, along with stunning views over Arundel for your post ceremony drinks out on the balcony. You can even have your full wedding reception here. Last but not least, the entire team here are second to none and incredibly helpful.
The Town Hall, in all it's glory, steeped in history.
Moving over to East Sussex, we have Pelham House, a captivating Grade II listed townhouse venue situated in the heart of vibrant Lewes. Located within easy reach of Brighton and London, it is the ultimate chic town centre exclusive use wedding and events venue. With 29 bedrooms and a getting ready space, this venue offers an ideal haven to celebrate, with stunning views to boot. This really is a special and unique venue, and one we really love working at. One of our favourite weddings here also booked a dancing saxophonist..he had everyone on the dance floor!

Of course, The Brewhouse Project in Arundel made our list! We have worked with these guys since 2020 and are firmly part of the family/furniture. If you’re into your beer, what better place to get married than a brewery? You can even get a personalised cartoon of yourselves printed on beer cans..name a better wedding favour..I’ll wait. Seriously though, not only does this place brew exceptional beer on site, it also has stunning views across fields and a ‘master chef’ at the helm.

Next up, we have Southlands Barn. Aside from the real life peacocks they have here, this is truly one of the most dedicated wedding venues we have come across. This is a family run business, and you can tell. They really have thought of everything and the finishing touches are second to none, with unspoilt views of the countryside and the Highland Cows offer an excellent photo opportunity. Our favourite thing about this venue is the ‘exclusive use’, which means you get the venue for three days over the weekend. This allows you to drop off anything you need, add your own decorations, get ready in ease, enjoy your big day, and meet your guests back there the following day for a full debrief. This sort of package is rare, trust us.

Featured on BBC’s Interior Design Masters, Highley Manor has breathtaking views across the country side. There are three potential ceremony spaces including outdoors, where we can decorate the beautiful pagoda, as well as beautiful gardens, which work great with our giant games. They also have 18 guest bedrooms as well as the Honeymoon Suite, accommodating you and your guests after the evening celebrations!

Last, but definitely not least, is Cissbury Barns. This venue offers not one, but two barns as well as a truly unique bar and garden area out the back. The drive up to Cissbury is something else, and involves driving through fields and working stables full of ponies and horses. Once at the venue, there is the option of an outdoor ceremony, or a stunning barn for your ceremony. Each can be dressed with our white chair sashes and aisle flowers to create a beautiful backdrop to your big day. Choose one of the recommended caterers for a feast to remember. We highly recommend Summit Tasty as your evening food catering, for the best loaded fries you will ever get your hands on.
