Lauren and Adam - Upwaltham Barns
Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex
Lauren and Adam came to us full of ideas and enthusiasm (we genuinely love these guys) and everything was planned and a deposit had been paid. A few months later they came back to us and had a complete change of heart and wanted to change their flower choices and colour palette..no problem!
When planning a wedding with us, your final balance isn’t due until 6 weeks before your big day, and there is absolutely no pressure to set your style in stone, there is plenty of time for tweaks! I am so glad they made the changes, because this wedding was simply stunning. Scroll down to see for yourself.

Lauren and Adam chose Upwaltham Barns for their big day. A truly unique countryside wedding venue, nestled amongst the rolling hills of the South Downs. The venue boasts a barn for the ceremony, as well as a separate barn for your reception. Our favourite feature is the ‘plank’ above the top table in the reception barn, which we adorned with beautiful fresh flowers, the main flower choice was dahlias in different varieties and colours and we think it looks truly breathtaking. What better way to frame yourself for your speeches.
Lauren’s hand tied bouquet was one of our favourites Dave has ever created, and it was finished with a dusky pink, long velvet ribbon. It featured dahlias, camomile, eucalyptus, stocks, delphiniums and spray roses. The colour palette was peaches, pale pinks and pale blues and we think it all complements each other perfectly.
The florals didn’t just stop there, we also created the bridesmaid bouquets, buttonholes, table decorations using bud vases and couple of huge arrangements in our large glass jars for the ceremony. We always want our couples to make to most of their flowers and the most from their budget so we will suggest ways in which you can reuse and move certain installations so that you can get the maximum benefit from them. In this case, Lauren and Adam were able to move the huge ceremony arrangements, to sit in front of the top table to create even more of a dramatic look. See the images below of them in both of their locations - we would never charge you double for these if it is possible for them to be moved either by us, or one of your wedding party.
Lauren and Adam only wanted a small wedding cake, so that they had something to cut. The cake they opted for was a single tier, decorated in white chocolate ganache and covered with pressed edible flowers. We pressed as many flowers that would be in Lauren’s bouquet, and were edible, as possible. The dahlia petals and camomile flowers worked really well and tied the theme together perfectly.
Their seating plan, welcome sign, name places and finishing touches were not provided by us, although this is something we can do for you, but we think they are perfectly suited to their colour palette and flower choices and pressed edible flower cake, that we wanted to include them here for your inspiration.
