Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gubbins?
Gubbins means ‘bits and bobs’, and we thought it was the perfect name to encompass three of the big items you need for your wedding day; cake, flowers and props. Our aim is to make your wedding planning a whole lot easier, by getting all your Gubbins under one roof.
Who runs Gubbins?
Gubbins was created, and is run by Emily from Big Spoon, and Dave from Beachtown Blooms
How does the process work?
Firstly, we’d love to meet you and have a chat about your big day. This can either be done over Zoom, or in person at our studio in Littlehampton. You can book your consultation here. We go over all your plans, dreams and inspiration, discuss your venue and a couple of logistics. Following our initial get together, we will send over a spreadsheet detailing everything we spoke about and a quote.
How do we secure our date?
We ask for a 30% non refundable deposit to secure your date. Your balance is not due until 6 weeks before your big day. Changes can be made up until this point.
How do I pay?
Payment is due via BACS transfer. We will send an invoice to you from Free Agent. If you need to make payment via Credit or Debit Card, this will incur a 2.5% transaction fee. Gubbins will send a link via Zettle for card payments, which may show up on your accounts as either Big Spoon or Beachtown Blooms.
Can I make changes to my order?
Of course. You can make changes up until your final balance is due, 6 weeks before your big day.
Can I come in and view your props?
Absolutely, we’d love to see you. Please fill in our ‘Book a Consultation’ form to arrange this.
Will you deliver to my venue?
Our HQ is in Littlehampton, West Sussex. We cover the whole of Sussex and will consider travelling further for your big day. Please get in touch to chat to us.
Can you set up the props for me?
We’d love to. Please view our packages here and book a consultation if you would like to discuss further.
Can I order wedding cake samples?
Yes, we’d love you to. Please visit Big Spoon to order your box of 4 flavours. The box is £25 and if you choose to book with us, this is deducted from your final quote.
What if an item gets damaged at my wedding?
We take an ‘accidents happen’ deposit when your final balance is due to cover the cost of any damage. This is refunded within 10 working days after your wedding, once we have checked over the items for any damage.
Can I use you for an event that isn’t a wedding?
That would be great, we’d love to chat. Please email us so we can get the ball rolling.
