Catherine and Oli - Amberley Castle

Catherine and Oli opted for a traditional white and green wedding, in the grounds of the beautiful Amberley Castle. Their ceremony was held in the village church.

As soon as we met with Catherine and Oli we were so excited for their big day…our first castle wedding!

We went to visit the castle to get a feel for the grounds as they were taking over the entire castle and hotel. The ceremony was in the Amberley village church, which has direct access to the castle, although our bride chose to arrive in style in a classic Rolls Royce wedding car.

For her arrival, we dressed the gate at the start of the church pathway, which led Catherine to the large arch entrance to the church, where we had created an enormous arrangement of beautiful hydrangeas, large white roses and ruscus. It was truly stunning and the most perfect entrance before her aisle walk. The bridal bouquet was created using similar flowers, but no hydrangeas. There were also two bridesmaid bouquets and a small flower girl arrangement for their little girl, Hattie.

Inside the church, we used our white sashes to line the aisle and added bunches of gypsophila to the pew ends. At the altar, we used our gold plinths to add some height for even more floral arrangements.

Meanwhile, back at the castle we were busy adorning the magnificent wooden staircase with flowers and foliage. We had the help of our wonderful freelance florist, Bex, who we couldn’t have done it without. At the bottom, we used our lanterns and pillar candles to frame the couples welcome sign. The staircase is what led the guests to the reception room, so it was a real statement. At the top of the staircase, we used more of our gold lanterns and pillar candles beneath the seating plan.

Outside, under the large stretch tent, we adorned the well with yet more flowers. This became the centre of the outside area and dance floor. We also created a gifting table using our gold rimmed glass card box, gold frame for signage and more blooms.

Inside the reception room, we created the entire table scape using gold votives with tea lights, hurricane vases with pillar candles, bud vases and eucalyptus sprigs for the menus. We also created the table numbers using our gold frames with white vinyl lettering to match the font on all of the stationery.

We also created a floral archway behind the couples top table, which was created using large hydrangeas, white roses and tonnes of greenery.

Last, but certainly not least, we created a three tiered cake, which sat in the huge window of the reception room. Catherine and Oli chose lemon and raspberry as their top tier, chocolate and biscoff for their middle tier and Victoria sponge and raspberry jam for their bottom tier. The cake was decorated in white chocolate ganache, with fresh flowers diagonally across the front. We also created the flavour signage, in one of our gold frames. As a finishing touch, we left mini cake boxes complete with the couples initials so their guests could take some cake home with them.
